WPP’s Geometry agency is seeking a Designer/Junior Art Director – Omnichannel Shopper Marketing. The position is based in the Paris area but the scope is Europe Middle East and Africa. This is a great hands-on opportunity to join an outstanding, internationally-networked agency team and influence iconic brands across various categories (Oral Care, Personal Care, Home Care, Consumer Healthcare to name a few).

The Omnichannel Shopper Marketing agency team for our global and regional clients is fully-integrated into multidisciplinary teams consisting of people from various WPP agencies, operating across multiple marketing disciplines (consumer advertising, shopper marketing, eCommerce, media, healthcare professionals, etc.). Everyone sits together in one building, enabling speed, efficiency and connectivity.

In Paris, Geometry partners with a diverse portfolio of clients including Action Contre la Faim, Colgate-Palmolive, Danone, Marionnaud, Piaget, Sanofi and Se Loger, either directly or in close collaboration with WPP companies such as GroupM, JWT, Ogilvy, Peclers and VMLY&R.

Missions

Reports to: Creative Director
Client teams: primarily Colgate-Palmolive and Sanofi – but not exclusively

Focuses on the visual side of the creative being developed for various client requests. Assists the Creative team on design, type, photography, layout, color, shape, and the overall visual esthetics. Ensures agency success by assisting in the creation of designs that are consistent with client branding guidelines, client goals, and company procedures.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Attend and participate in in project kick-off meetings Account, Strategy, and integrated Creative leads
* Take notes based on creative brief discussed
* Ask clarifying questions to understand the assignment and any specific creative requests
* Confirm the Jr. Art Director’s role in the assignment
- Participate in all creative brainstorms along with Creative team
* Provide input on concepting the ideas based on knowledge of current trends, pop culture, and current and past design themes
* Bring ideas to meeting on how the idea could activate
* Build upon other participants’ ideas
- Partner with a Copywriter, Senior Art Director and integrated Creative teams in creating the agreed upon concept based on the creative brainstorm
* Create designs based on the brand(s), the brand guidelines, the target audience, and retailers
* Design logos and sketch out ideas or layouts
* Search for photos to be used in the design
* Identify the correct font and imagery that works best with the idea
* Understand usage rights of purchased items, such as stock photography and fonts
* Use color appropriately to facilitate the idea or direct the eye
* Work within the industry standards and follow company procedures and protocol
- Work with senior Creative team members to revise design concepts
* Consult with Creative team to ensure the design is in line with the creative brief
* Interpret feedback received and utilize to adjust design
- Prepare and package files correctly for transfer to the next phase (i.e. transitioning a file to the Studio)
* Follow specified guidelines to store files properly
Ensure that files are properly labeled and placed in the correct folder on the corresponding server

Profil

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Design or relevant field
- Full English proficiency in a working environment
- Previous internship experience in a design or agency capacity, preferably with shopper or retail marketing experience
- Knowledge of Adobe Create Suite and any other relevant applications
- Basic understanding of the industry including: Paper stock, RGB/CMYK, Acronyms
- Introductory knowledge of current trends, pop culture, current and past design themes
- Ability to communicate clearly, thoroughly and succinctly both verbally and in written form; Can clearly articulate an idea and the reason(s) behind a specific creative direction
- Accepts constructive feedback and is able to utilize feedback in work
- Basic understanding of specified brand(s), brand guidelines, and retailers as they relate to the projects they are working on
- Understanding of where and how people interact with all kinds of media including: at home, on the go, while shopping, Mobile, Broadcast, Print, and Event
- Collaborates well with others; demonstrated through actions such as:
* Partnering with other Creative team members, including Copywriters and other
* Art Directors, to complete assigned projects
* Working with Account team to fully understand client asks and timelines
- Strong attention to detail and organization, demonstrated through actions such as:
* Effectively proofing own work to ensure accuracy
* Actively and effectively managing timelines and deliverables of multiple projects simultaneously, some with short turnaround times
- Proactive approach, demonstrated through actions such as:
* Anticipating potential problems and obstacles to project success, communicating concerns and developing solutions
* Actively seeking out additional projects during lull periods
